The Challenges #3 February 2014

A new month means a new challenge! We’re a couple of days into the month and I’m doing well so far, so hopefully writing it down will persuade me even more to continue.

The challenge: to drink 2-3 glasses of juice, and 4-5 glasses of water, per day.

The water is a fairly normal step. It’s all I really drink, but I don’t feel like I drink enough of it. Obviously, some days I will need a little more or less, depending on what I am doing, but I want to make more of an effort to get the hydration my body needs.

It seems everybody is doing ‘juice cleanses’ at the moment, and whilst I don’t think I’d ever go as far as that, I can see the benefits of drinking juices. I’m pretty fussy, so I’ve picked up three tasty ones from Morrisons. They are from the store’s own range, and are 100% fresh, pressed juice, not from concentrate. I picked up red berries, clementine, and cloudy apple juices. They’re all so tasty, and after a few days of drinking them regularly I do feel more alert and like I’m generally healthier.

I do eat fruit and vegetables, but not enough. My current pattern, though, is more on track. I might have a glass of apple juice and one of red berry juice, a banana mid-morning, cherry tomatoes with my lunch, and salad or vegetables with my tea. The juices are giving me that boost to up my totals.

So there we have it, a pretty methodical trial for this month. Fingers crossed I can continue in the way I am at the moment, and I’ll update you at the end of the month!

Are you a juice fan?

  1. I don't really drink juice as I once read that it's not that great for you as it's actually quite high in sugar, but I have upped my vegetable portions this year in an attempt to get healthy.

    Good luck.
